Fans have waited for years for more information on “The Wolf Among Us 2,” and they are finally getting them this week. Geoff Keighley, who will host the event, announced that the developer would release a first behind-the-scenes look at the game’s development.
Keighley announced the event on Twitter earlier this week with a postcard that reads, “Greetings from Fabletown.” A livestream of the event will be available on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m. PT. Fans can tune in through the official channels of The Game Awards on Twitch and YouTube.

The behind-the-scenes video will likely include interviews with the developers. And in a follow-up tweet, Keighley confirmed that a new trailer would be released on Wednesday as well. That means fans are likely to get much-needed details about the gameplay and the story would be revealed in the process.
The scheduled “The Wolf Among Us 2” event lines up with Telltale Games’ promise in late 2021 of going “deeper into things” about the game early this year. The livestream will reportedly run for 30 minutes, IGN reports. While the studio is also working on “The Expanse: A Telltale Series” with Deck Nine games, this week’s event appears to be focused on “The Wolf Among Us 2.” And Keighley confirmed that the developer is also ready to release an all-new trailer for the sequel.
However, it is still uncertain if Telltale is also ready to announce a release date or launch window for “The Wolf Among Us 2” this week. In the same statement released last December, the studio noted that the sequel was only in pre-production when it was announced in December 2019 at The Game Awards.
A few months before the game’s announcement two years ago, Telltale Games went through a reorganization and was “revived” just weeks before 2019 The Game Awards. That means between 2020 and 2021, “The Wolf Among Us 2” was likely still in early development. So it would not be surprising if an exact release date is not yet ready to be revealed this week. But with a new trailer and a behind-the-scenes look into its development, it is a good indication that the creation of the game has been moving along well in the past couple of years.
