Anadolu Agency reported more than 5,000 illness cases in Yemen’s Taiz province and thousands displaced by fighting; EconoTimes previously covered disruptions to water and sanitation services in the area.

In earlier coverage of Taiz’s water and sanitation systems, EconoTimes said fighting blocked garbage trucks from reaching a disposal site, while diesel shortages hampered water pumping. UNICEF said it was supplying diesel to keep pumps operating and providing emergency water and sanitation support to more than 300,000 people.
