To be brutally honest: the last few months have been quite shitty. Lockdowns and lay-offs weren’t exactly what we all imagined to happen at the beginning of 2020. But with better times ahead, it can’t help to dream a bit! In this article, we talk about some incredible road trips in Europe that are waiting for you once everything goes back to normal. Enjoy daydreaming!
The party road trip: Amsterdam-Berlin-Prague
Do you enjoy a good party? Then a trip between Amsterdam, Berlin and Prague is exactly what you’ll like. Both Amsterdam and Berlin are known for their clubs where you can dance your worries away all night long. And all three cities love a good drink! The last few years new breweries have been popping up in The Netherlands, so you can try the coolest new IPA’s. And we probably don’t have to tell you how much the Germans like a good drink! In the German capital you’ll find many biergartens, where you can enjoy an ice cold beer. And if you make it to Prague, you can relax in a beer spa. That’s one for the bucket list! If you start in Amsterdam, you can for instance rent a car or a van at Diks, in Amsterdam or Almere (Dutch: auto huren Almere).
The fashion & sun road trip: Milan-Nice-Cannes
Do you love the sun on your face and do you enjoy wearing the latest fashion? Then this is the road trip for you! Milan is well known as thé fashion capital of southern Europe and is filled to the brim with the nicest boutiques, where you can shop all day long. Done shopping? Then it’s time for pasta or pizza and an aperitivo, of course! In Nice and Cannes at the Côte d’Azur you can also enjoy the good life. The cities are known for their incredible weather and are loved by the jetset. Just take a look at the yachts in the marinas! Who knows… you might just run into a movie star! By the way, if you’re in the area, we recommend driving up to Grasse, the world’s capital of perfume!
The history & fewer tourists road trip: Riga-Tallinn-Helsinki
Eastern Europe is quite unknown when it comes to tourism. Of course there are people that have visited these countries, but there’s less chance you run into someone who went to Tallinn than someone who went to Barcelona! But did you know that Riga’s old city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site? And that Tallinn’s Old Town is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe? If you love history and culture, you’ll love these cities! From Tallinn, you can take the ferry to Helsinki, the Finnish capital. Helsinki is a fun, trendy city, filled with gorgeous buildings and great museums.
Are you ready for your trip? Call up your friends, check out companies where you can rent a big van for a group (Dutch: 9 persoons bus huren)and start making plans!
