A wallet Lookonchain linked to the Mercado Bitcoin incident held 7,988 Ether (ETH), valued at about $18.19 million. Its reported conversion involved Pepe (PEPE), Aave (AAVE), Uniswap (UNI), Ondo (ONDO), Ethena (ENA) and other tokens.
The balance was held in Ether rather than in separate altcoins.
Mercado Bitcoin reported that $12.9 million was restricted, up from $11 million disclosed earlier, as it checked whether services could safely resume, EconoTimes previously reported in its coverage of the transfer pause. The company also said it had contained the incident and reported no customer losses or leaks of customer data.
Blockchain security firm Hypernative flagged more than $40 million in suspicious transfers across several networks, according to EconoTimes' earlier report on incident-linked addresses. Mercado Bitcoin had not confirmed that estimate as a loss.
