“Tokyo Ghoul:re” Season 2 Episode 1 is only a week away and fans are excited to catch it. The next installment will have Kaneki wrestle with himself and decide what he’s going to do with his ghoul persona, Otaku Art reported.
This persona, named Haise Sasaki, will likely play second fiddle in the upcoming season and Kaneki is set to take control of himself. It’s also quite satisfying seeing the character have his short white hair return. “Tokyo Ghoul:re” Season 2 Episode 1 will set up how the next installment is going to wrap up, which will end the show entirely.
According to Comic Book, “Tokyo Ghoul:re” Season 2 Episode 1 will herald the conclusion of the shonen series, ending the anime’s overarching arch in just 12 episodes. Indeed, the upcoming installment is set to adopt 120 chapters from the manga, which all but confirms that a lot of things are going to be left out.
The previous season only adapted 6 chapters per episode, which puts into perspective how condensed the next installment is going to be. It’s still unknown what’s in store in “Tokyo Ghoul:re” Season 2 Episode 1 but it’s likely going to set up multiple storylines. Among these will probably be Furuta’s intentions and how the character will shape the conclusion of the plot.
Furuta has now become the series’s main antagonist after he attacked agents of the Commission of Counter Ghoul. Meanwhile, Kaneki will have to sort out how he’s going to handle his other persona, especially now that his memories have returned. Will “Tokyo Ghoul:re” Season 2 Episode 1 heavily feature Kaneki’s reversion? One can only guess.
What’s certain at the moment is that the upcoming installment will have to deal with a lot of things in order to tie loose end in the plotline. As such, “Tokyo Ghoul:re” Season 2 Episode 1 should cover a lot of these arcs and leave out unnecessary scenes and dialogues between characters. “Tokyo Ghoul:re” Season 2 is slated to premiere on Oct. 9.
