The countdown is dwindling for the premiere of “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4. The anime’s continuation — technically, the second half of “Tokyo Ghoul: re” — is set to begin in a couple of months. Meanwhile, there are speculations that fans will see Furuta as the next main villain.
Fans are yet to find out when “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4 is exactly going to premiere. In a recent report from OtakuArt, it is being speculated to air sometime in mid-October. But, overall, it has been confirmed for months now that the anime will return this fall.
The confirmation came from no less than YonkouProductions. It can be recalled that “Tokyo Ghoul: re” first aired last April. Later that month, the studio revealed on Twitter that it is actually a two-part series with a total of 24 episodes. The first half of the season concluded on July 3. And so the wait for what’s technically “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4 began.
Luckily, YonkouProductions was feeling generous last month and revealed when “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4 is going to be released. When a fan assumed that “Tokyo Ghoul: re” will continue in 2019, the studio said it will actually happen in October.
As for the plot spoilers, one favorite theory is that Furuta takes the spotlight as “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4’s main baddie. Avid fans may recall that Furuta is the former Commission of Counter Ghoul director.
Furuta has had a bad rep, even in the previous season. And since he is obviously not over yet in pushing his own agenda, he has the resources and powers to be established as the next villain in “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4.
Before “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4, it can be recalled Furuta killed many CCG staff members in the latest episode. But when Koori Ui found him, he claimed to be the only survivor even though he was the one who made the attack. The storyline of uncovering the real agenda and activities of Furuta is surely going to be an interesting one to follow in “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4.
