TORONTO, Jan. 04, 2017 -- On Monday, January 9, Freshii invites anyone with a fast food gift card to visit any of its hundreds of participating restaurant locations and trade the card in for a free chef-designed menu item with protein. Freshii will then exchange the gift cards collected for cash using a third-party provider and donate all proceeds to the brand’s charitable partner WE Charity. Eat Freshii. Give back.
Guests can bring gift cards from any fast-casual concept, including but not limited to McDonald’s, Subway, Taco Bell, Chipotle, Jamba Juice, Menchie’s and Wendy’s, valued at $5 or more to any participating Freshii restaurant. Freshii will swap the fast food gift card for a free chef-designed bowl, burrito, wrap, soup or salad with chicken, tofu or steak.
Freshii is driven to change the way the world eats. The brand mission is to make healthy eating convenient and affordable to all. Freshii will continue to campaign creatively to fulfill this mission and cancel out the damage of the abundance of Big Macs, Whoppers and Footlongs.
Freshii VP of Marketing Melissa Gallagher shares the motivation behind the promotion, “We’re saying goodbye to the grease and hello to the golden arches of the next generation. At Freshii we live by our company mantra. Let’s eat without regret. We want our guests to live their new year’s resolutions. Let’s start 2017 off on a healthii note. Let’s Eat. Energize.”
Per the National Retail Federation, restaurants are the most popular type of gift cards purchased throughout the holidays. By trading them in for nutritious meal choices that energize people on the go, Freshii is one step closer to making healthy food more accessible.
Freshii looks forward to trading in the gift cards for cash to donate to WE, an international charity that partners with communities, both domestically and internationally, to empower them to lift themselves out of poverty. Freshii’s focus is to provide nourishing and energizing meals to children and communities in the developing world. The proceeds from this promotion will go directly toward funding these projects.
Visit a Freshii location on Monday, January 9 to enjoy a free chef-designed menu item in exchange for a fast food gift card. To find a nearby Freshii restaurant and its hours of operation, visit www.freshii.com.
