“True Detective” Season 3 has finally been announced to the sounds of trumpets in the minds of fans of the detective drama. The first season of the show was such an explosive offering, what with it being full of depth, excellent writing, and amazing acting. The follow-up season was less well-received, but the upcoming installment might bring the series back to its former glory.
As Mirror notes, the first season of the franchise was a powerhouse hit. It garnered so many accolades and awards that it was a wonder the second season failed to meet the lofty expectations set by the first. This was a shame as well because there was so much wasted potential there. Fortunately, the series has another chance to redeem itself in “True Detective” Season 3.
Starring the amazing Mahershala Ali as Waynes Hayes, the trailer shows hints at what can be expected from the upcoming season. It will apparently be told from the perspective of an aged version of the actor’s character in “True Detective” Season 3. During his narration, he will reveal the horrors that he witnessed while doing his job.
With regards to the actual plot of “True Detective” Season 3, Hayes will be revealing details about cases of missing children when he was still working as a detective. Apparently, working on those cases led to some unfortunate circumstances, which eventually resulted in tragedy for his family. As to what form this tragedy takes, it won’t be until the franchise comes back that this will be revealed.
As for when this amazing series is coming back, January 2019 is the current schedule for the “True Detective” Season 3 premiere, Otaku Art reports. It will also feature Carmen Ejogo as Amelia Reardon, along with Scoot McNairy, Mamie Gummer, Rhys Wakefield, and Jon Tenney. Fans can stay updated on these developments by looking out for future coverage of the show.
