Trump said in a Nov. 7 Truth Social post that he had offered UFC President and CEO Dana White the White House press secretary job. CNN reported that a source said White declined and an aide described Trump’s post as a joke; White has not publicly confirmed a decision.

Trump called the role “Press Secretary of the United States,” urged White to take it and named Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and “Kayla Harris” as fighters he wanted White to bring as assistants. The post offered the position but did not announce an appointment.

The Associated Press reported that White’s remarks did not clarify how seriously he was considering the job. AP also said the White House and a UFC spokesperson did not respond to messages it sent Saturday about Trump’s post.

White spoke after Zuffa Boxing 12 in London. He told reporters, “We have a meeting on Monday.” Asked about his other work, White said, “Yeah, I got a lot of jobs already.” White said the meeting with Trump would take place at the White House on Monday, Nov. 9.
