President Donald Trump is scheduled to hold campaign events in Iowa and Kansas on Sunday, two days before voters decide which party controls Congress in the Nov. 3 midterm elections.

His campaign schedule lists a 4 p.m. ET appearance in Dubuque, Iowa, followed by an 8 p.m. ET event in Salina, Kansas. EconoTimes previously covered the restored Iowa and Kansas schedule.

The Associated Press reported that both parties are focused on closely contested Senate races in the two states. Those contests are part of the broader fight for control of the Senate. Republicans currently hold both chambers of Congress, and Tuesday’s election will determine whether that changes.

The campaign canceled the in-person stops Thursday, Oct. 29, replacing them with phone rallies before restoring the appearances Friday, the Associated Press reported. Trump said allies in Iowa and Kansas told him an in-person visit would be more effective.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
