Turkish economic confidence index rises in August

Turkish economic confidence index rose in the month of August. The sentiment index rose 7.9 percent to 87.1 from July’s 80.7. The rise in economic confidence index was driven by rises in the sub-indices.

The consumer confidence index rose 3.1 percent in the month to 58.3 from July’s 56.5. The real sector confidence index rose 5.7 percent to 102.1 from 96.6 in the prior month, whereas the services confidence index rose 6.7 percent to 89.1.

The retail trade confidence index rose 5.1 percent to 95 in August from July’s 90.4. Meanwhile, the construction confidence index rose 6 percent to 55.5 from July’s 52.4.
