Turkish headline inflation accelerated sequentially in the month of September to 0.99 percent. On a year-on-year basis, the consumer price index came in at 9.26 percent, a deceleration from 15.01 percent. The highest monthly rise was seen in housing that recorded a print of 2.15 percent. The indices for clothing and footwear rose 2.13 percent, whereas for miscellaneous goods and services it rose 2.09 percent.
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco saw a print of 1.79 percent and transportation saw a print of 1.61 percent. Meanwhile, the highest monthly fall was seen in food and non-alcoholic beverages, recording 0.60 percent. The indices for recreation and culture dropped, as well for communication.
The highest annual rise was 43.86 percent in alcoholic beverages and tobacco. Health came in at 15.41 percent, miscellaneous goods and services came in at 14.98 percent. Hotels, cafes and restaurants recorded 14.87 percent and education came in at 14 percent.
