A U.S. military strike killed five people aboard a fast boat in the Eastern Pacific on Tuesday, Oct. 27, after intelligence linked the vessel to narcotics trafficking, U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said.
The command said its intelligence assessment found that the vessel was engaged in narcotics trafficking. It described those killed as “narco-terrorists.”
SOUTHCOM said it directed the mission and identified Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere as the unit that carried out the operation. The command also released video of the strike.
