Jordan Lawrence, chief executive and co-founder of Damisa, told The National that the risk of a November fuel-price increase was elevated after oil rose, as motorists await the committee’s monthly decision.

October’s schedule lists Super 98 at AED 4.40 per liter, Special 95 at AED 4.28, E-Plus 91 at AED 4.21 and diesel at AED 4.80. The Gasoline and Diesel Prices Follow-up Committee set the rates; Emirates News Agency (WAM) published them Sept. 30. WAM says the monthly system reflects global energy prices and local market needs. EconoTimes previously covered October’s rates and the monthly pricing framework.

The current process grew out of fuel-price deregulation that took effect Aug. 1, 2015. WAM said the change put average international prices under monthly review. A single day’s crude settlement is one part of that picture: the mechanism also cites local market needs, and Lawrence said the review takes account of a month’s market averages, refined-fuel prices and related costs.

Reuters reported an Oct. 23 settlement of $116.72 per barrel for Brent crude futures, up 3.14%, and $103.27 for U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI), up 3.8%. Reuters connected the rise to Houthi attacks on Saudi targets, including energy sites, and concern over further strains on Middle East supply.

Kpler said crude and condensate exports from the Middle East had briefly moved back to prewar levels in recent weeks. As of Oct. 6, the firm estimated about 5 million barrels per day of Middle East crude and condensate production remained offline compared with February 2026 levels.

Any increase would add to motorists’ costs. Gulf News illustrated the effect using Special 95: an additional 10 fils per liter would add AED 6 to a 60-liter fill, a scenario the outlet described as illustrative rather than a forecast. Gulf News reported November rates were expected at the end of October.
