UK Election: Double victory for underdog Corbyn

United Kingdom’s Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn is the biggest winner of the election night. While his party fell far short of an outright majority, the Labour Party performed much better than anticipated. With 627 of the 650 seats declared, the Labour Party has won 256 seats and likely to win some as the count continues. Mr. Corbyn and his party were able to add additional 30 seats compared to the 2015 election when Ed Milliband led the party to a disastrous outcome with just 232 seats. With this result, while it is unlikely that he would form a government, he has brought the party back from the dead. It was considered that the Labour Party, which formed the last government seven years ago.

In addition to that, with this election outcome, he is able to silent the critics within his own party who has been trying to undermine his leadership from the very beginning. His opponents were branding him as a destroyer of the party values and pushing it further towards left.
