U.K. unemployment is expected to have stayed stable in September. The set of labor data for this month is expected to have been quite undramatic with very little movement in the key figures, noted Societe Generale in a research note. Given that the real economic activity is temporarily resilient, employment looks set to continue for some months yet and joblessness is therefore likely to be stable.
There is likelihood of a small decline of 2000 in the claimant count in October after a small rise of 0.7k in September, stated Societe Generale. The LFS jobless rate is expected to have remained at hold at 4.9 percent in the three months to September. Also, the earnings figures are likely to have remained stable in the same period with both total and regular earnings growth staying at 2.3 percent three-month year-on-year, the same as in last month, added Societe Generale.
