Many of the political pundits are calling that the end for Donald Trump has begun. After August feud, in which Mr. Trump got into a controversy with the parents of a Muslim soldier who was slain in Iraq. The parents called Mr. Trump ignorant of the U.S. constitution over his proposed temporary Muslim ban. After drawing criticism from senior republicans, Mr. Trump retaliated by not endorsing house speaker Paul Ryan and Senator John McCain in their reelection bid. This feud has so far cost Mr. Trump dearly as his poll numbers plummeted.
However, anyone who is counting out Trump already would pay dearly as the race is far from over. Especially the presidential debates are still lined up ahead. The recent history also suggests that given the Presidential race will be very close. In 2008, when the race was heavily tilted towards President Barrack Obama he was able to secure just 5.2 percent more vote than McCain. That figure narrowed to just 3.9 percent in his reelection in 2012. The 2000 race was closer than ever, George Bush became President by winning just 5 electorates more than Al Gore, though Mr. Gore has more overall votes than him. Any big win in recent history was achieved by Bill Clinton in 1996, where he won 8.5 percent more votes than his closest rival.
Gone are the era of big wins now is the era of close calls.
