US Election Series: Updates from key battle ground states 4; Race is tight and will be long

There are 17 battleground states in the United States in this year’s election, which could go to either side and will be key decisive factor in the economy. They offer 191 electoral votes. Below are the results from the key battleground states:

  • Florida (29) – Donald Trump declared winner.
  • Ohio (18) – Donald Trump declared winner.
  • Michigan (16) – With 78 percent of the votes counted Trump is leading by 1 percent.
  • Pennsylvania (20) – With 96 percent of the votes counted Hillary and Trump are tied.
  • New Hampshire (4) – With 82 percent of the votes counted Trump is leading by 0.1 percent.     
  • Maine CD2 (1) – With 68 percent of the votes counted Trump is leading by 11.4 percent.
  • Maine (2) – With 71 percent of the votes counted Hillary is leading by 3.3 percent.
  • North Carolina (15) – Donald Trump declared winner.
  • Virginia (13) – Hillary Clinton declared winner.
  • Georgia (16) – Donald Trump declared winner.
  • Colorado (9) – Hillary Clinton declared winner.
  • Nevada (6) – Hillary Clinton declared winner.
  • New Mexico (5) – Hillary Clinton declared winner.
  • Arizona (11) – With 68 percent of the votes counted, Trump is leading Hillary by 3.9 percent.
  • Iowa (6) – Donald Trump declared winner.
  • Wisconsin (10) – Donald Trump declared winner.
  • Minnesota (10) – With 72 percent of the votes counted, Hillary is leading by 4.6 percent.

Hillary Clinton has secured 215 electoral votes and Donald Trump has secured 255 electoral votes.

In the race to the Senate, Democrats need 4 wins to secure a majority compared to 3 seats for the Republicans. In the race to the House of Representative race, The Republicans have won 221 seats and got majority, while the Democrats have won 163 seats.
