US merchant wholesalers’ stocks probably jumped in July

Led by a demand-induced jump in US motor vehicles stocks, the nominal value of merchant wholesalers' inventories likely climbed by 1.3% in July, after an above-consensus 0.9% build in June.

"This forecast, if accurate, would place the level of wholesale stocks during the reference period a whopping $90.1 billion annualized above June's level, following a $46.0-billion increase during the spring quarter", says Societe Generale.
