U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) ended their latest trading week with significant net outflows, snapping a three-week inflow streak as institutional investors reduced their exposure to the cryptocurrency amid heightened market volatility.
According to ETF flow data, Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $681.10 million in net outflows for the week ending October 9, 2026. The withdrawals followed several sessions of persistent selling pressure, reflecting weakening investor confidence after Bitcoin's recent price correction.
The negative weekly performance marks a notable reversal for Bitcoin investment products, which had previously attracted substantial institutional capital. Over the preceding two weeks, spot Bitcoin ETFs accumulated nearly $2.4 billion in net inflows, highlighting the sharp change in market sentiment.
The latest Bitcoin ETF outflows suggest that institutional investors are adopting a more cautious approach as cryptocurrency prices struggle to recover. Continued market uncertainty and increased selling activity appear to have contributed to reduced demand for Bitcoin-linked investment products.
Among major ETF issuers, Fidelity recorded the largest weekly withdrawals, with its Bitcoin fund experiencing approximately $380.36 million in net outflows. The substantial redemptions made Fidelity the biggest contributor to the market's overall negative balance.
The ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) followed with $207.21 million in weekly outflows, indicating that selling pressure extended across multiple prominent Bitcoin investment vehicles.
Meanwhile, BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF demonstrated relative resilience despite the broader market downturn. The fund registered a modest net inflow of approximately $1.02 million during the same period, contrasting with the substantial withdrawals experienced by competing products.
The divergence between BlackRock and other major ETF providers highlights uneven institutional demand as investors reassess their cryptocurrency allocations.
Bitcoin's recent market weakness has also raised concerns about whether ETF investors will continue reducing their holdings in the coming sessions. Sustained withdrawals could reinforce bearish sentiment, particularly if Bitcoin prices remain under pressure.
However, the latest figures represent a reversal in weekly fund flows rather than definitive evidence of a prolonged institutional retreat.
Market participants will closely monitor upcoming Bitcoin ETF inflow and outflow data for signs of renewed buying interest or further selling pressure as the cryptocurrency market navigates its latest correction.
