U.S. nominal consumer probably slowed slightly in September

Current-dollar PCE in United State is expected to decelerate slightly in September, climbing by 0.3% following a pair of 0.4% increases in July and August.

Reflecting the impact of lower prices on consumer gasoline outlays, goods spending probably dipped by 0.2% - the first contraction since April.

Stepped-up services spending likely picked up the slack during the reference period. Supported by yet another a temperature-induced jump in consumers' utilities bills, services outlays likely jumped by 0.6% in September, eclipsing the 0.5% gain posted in August, notes Societe Generale.
