The Federal Reserve left its policy rate unchanged after a 10-2 vote Oct. 28, while a next-day FXStreet update put USD/CHF at 0.8285, above a technical support marker.
Federal Reserve Governor Lisa D. Cook and Cleveland Fed President Beth M. Hammack dissented in favor of raising the federal funds target range by a quarter point. The Fed maintained the range at 3.75% to 4% and said economic activity was expanding at a strong pace while inflation remained elevated.
FXStreet’s Oct. 29 report, time-stamped 7:12 a.m. ET (11:12 GMT), said the currency pair had pulled back from 0.8313. USD/CHF shows how many Swiss francs one U.S. dollar buys, so the reported quote was 0.8285 francs per dollar.
FXStreet tied its favorable short-term assessment to the pair staying above 0.8270, which it identified as near-term support. The outlet listed resistance near 0.8315 and then 0.8400. If the pair fell below 0.8270, FXStreet identified support near 0.8230 and a further area between 0.8180 and 0.8190. These are levels from the outlet’s technical analysis.
The report described its four-hour indicators as mixed: the relative strength index was 56, while the moving average convergence divergence reading was slightly below zero. FXStreet also disclosed that an AI tool helped prepare the analysis.
EconoTimes previously covered USD/CHF’s approach toward 0.8300 resistance, when FXStreet quoted the pair at 0.8282 on Oct. 27. The Fed’s next policy meeting is scheduled for Dec. 8-9.
