The Utah Jazz has agreed to give back to Delta Airlines the naming rights sponsorship of its home arena in a deal worth between US$6 million and US$8 million per year
Thus, the current Vivint Arena will be renamed the Delta Center beginning July 2023.
Delta also gains official airline designation and prominent branding in the venue.
Delta Airlines held the venue’s naming rights from its opening in 1991 until 2006.
The 18,206-seat venue was rebranded as the EnergySolutions Arena after Delta filed for bankruptcy in 2005.
In 2020, Vivint replaced EnergySolutions as the naming rights partner for the arena.
Delta recently signed a renewal of its lease agreement with Salt Lake City International Airport, which will now run until 2044. Salt Lake City is the airline’s fourth-largest US market and Utah is home to more than 5,000 Delta employees.
Vivint, whose naming rights deal was due to run until 2026, has now reworked its partnership and will retain its courtside suite and marketing rights until at least 2030.
