The “WWE 2K” franchise has been consistently releasing a new video game installment since 2000 and that tradition will most likely continue this year. However, there are speculations that “WWE 2K20” will also break the franchise’s conventions by having the first female wrestler on the cover. In the previous months, more female WWE superstars have been included in the list of speculated featured wrestlers for the upcoming game.
Recently, FanSided’s Daily DDT dedicated an entire post to suggest that Becky Lynch is one deserving star to be in the cover of “WWE 2K20.” Every year, 2K Games and WWE obviously pick the featured star on the cover based on their performance within the prior year. And the report, which dubbed “The Man” to be the “smartest choice” for the “WWE 2K20” cover, argued that Lynch has been having an impressive winning streak in the previous months.
A quick online search of Lynch’s most recent victories, one could be easily convinced that she should really make the short-list of features superstars for the “WWE 2K20” cover. Though Lynch was unable to join the Survivor Series last November due to an injury, she returned later that month with a bang after defeating Charlotte Flair and Asuka in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. Lynch opened 2019 with another major success after winning the Women’s Royal Rumble last January.
Lynch has also announced she wants to fight WWE-newbie Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship title at the WrestleMania 35 next month. While the featured star for “WWE 2K20” cover has not been announced yet, Lynch winning this match could boost her chances.
Charlotte Flair is also one of the highly suggested featured superstars for “WWE 2K20.” However, her most recent encounters with Lynch mostly did not end her favor.
Meanwhile, fans might also ask what about Rousey? While she is one of the most popular female athletes after her early success in UFC, the fact is, she is technically a newcomer in the WWE scene. And immediately being featured in the “WWE 2K20” cover might not sit well with many fans.
Since “WWE 2K14,” a new installment has been usually released in fall. Game developers and publisher will most likely maintain this schedule for “WWE 2K20’s” launch this year.
