Blizzard has yet to break their silence when “Warcraft 3: Reforged” will be available. However, the company did announce that the remaster will be coming out this year with its Beta version dropping before the game’s official launching, PCGamer reported.
New graphics and a slight change in gameplay are to be expected in “Warcraft 3: Reforged,” with no confirmation if there’s going to be a new campaign for the game. There’s also no news if there will be a new unit, heroes, or tavern heroes for the remaster either.
So what do we know so far? Apart from the 2019 release date, not a lot. “Warcraft 3: Reforged” is looking to give the game a huge boost in graphics but most players aren’t excited about this front since battle mechanics is always king when it comes to RTS games.
And speaking of gameplay, there will be a slight improvement on this involving the pathfinding mechanics of units. It’s been reported that “Warcraft 3: Reforged” will no longer have troops taking a disadvantageous route whenever there’s a prolong battle taking place.
Instead, the AI has been improved so that reinforcements will take the shortest path from point A to point B, eliminating a frustrating element that usually contributes to how skirmishes are concluded. What’s more, the collision boxes will remain square shape, as opposed to “Starcraft” where it’s round. What this means is that players can trap a single unit using four units, an essential tactic for isolating and killing heroes. But what’s really exciting for “Warcraft 3: Reforged” is that it will be added on Battle.net.
This will provide players an easier time to find matches and hone their skills as they climb up the ladder. It’s still unclear how the ladder system of “Warcraft 3: Reforged” will look like but this is definitely the right avenue to take. This aspect is also poised to lure in more players, which can potentially lead to more tournaments in the future. Hopefully, the remaster will be a hit among the RTS community as the game is in dire need of new blood within its fold.
