The Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) is using a pilot with XTB to make Warsaw-listed instruments easier to reach for overseas investors, with automatic access extended to XTB clients in EU countries.

GPW and XTB announced the arrangement Friday, Nov. 6. XTB previously enabled automatic access only for its Polish customers; foreign retail clients elsewhere had to request it.

GPW describes the cooperation as part of its effort to reach more foreign retail investors. XTB plans to provide information and run promotional campaigns about Poland’s capital market.

At September’s close, XTB maintained 1.285 million of Poland’s more than three million brokerage accounts. GPW management board member Michał Kobza said the exchange wants to draw on XTB’s international reach. XTB management board member Filip Kaczmarzyk said the broker had seen interest in the Polish market from customers abroad.

XTB CEO Omar Arnaout previously said Poland led the broker’s monthly account additions, followed by Indonesia, in an earlier discussion of XTB’s sign-up trends.

The announcement did not identify the instruments covered or give a schedule for extending access to customers beyond the EU.
