The first list of new additions to the Xbox Game Pass library arrived on Tuesday, headlined by two sports games, including the all-new “MLB The Show 22.” The rest of the lineup also includes some popular titles, including the latest installment to the “True Colors” franchise.
Reports have recently pointed out that “MLB The Show 21” is leaving the Xbox Game Pass catalog soon. This has now been confirmed by Microsoft, adding that the game will only be available on the service until April 15. On the bright side, it has a perfect replacement as its successor, “MLB The Show 22” is added to the Netflix-like platform on the same day it was released on April 5 with Big Ant Studios’ “Cricket 22.”
The “MLB: The Show” franchise has been published by Sony since it launched in 1997. So it was quite a surprise when “MLB: The Show 21” became the first game of the series to be released on Xbox. The game, like its successor, was made available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.
Three games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month will be available through EA Play, which means only those who have PC Game Pass and Ultimate tier subscriptions will have access to them starting Thursday, April 7. The list includes “Dragon Age 2,” “Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare,” and “Star Wars: Squadron.” The point-and-click adventure game “Chinatown Detective Agency” from General Interactive Co. will launch on Thursday and will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Deck Nine’s latest game “Life Is Strange: True Colors,” will also be added to the Xbox Game Pass just a few months after it was released last year. The new game follows the story of Alex Chen and how she grows into her psychic ability to read, control, and absorb the emotions of people around her. The game will be added to the library on Tuesday, April 12, along with “Panzer Corps 2” and “The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk.” “Lost In Random” will also be added to the library through EA Play on Thursday, April 14.
