Zoom Communications announced a data layer and AI product rollout extending into early 2027, aiming to link workplace conversations with business records and make Zoom services available to outside AI tools.
The company introduced its Unified Context Layer at Zoomtopia on Oct. 20. The system is designed to help employees and AI agents draw on past Zoom discussions, related company documents and recent activity from connected applications. Zoom said organizations will have configurable controls for access.
Zoom said its Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and Search & Ask APIs were available at the announcement. Zoom said compatible AI assistant connections and a dedicated MCP server for administrators were slated to arrive by the end of October. Zoom has previously outlined its plans to open workplace functions to outside AI agents through APIs. The company also listed ZoomMate Agent Teams as available.
The product schedule includes My Notes Workflows and Content Studio in October, followed by Customer Profiles and retail kiosks in November. Centralized AI management and deepfake risk detection tools are planned for December. Zoom said additional features are due in the first quarter of 2027.
The announcement comes as Zoom reports growth in its AI products. In its fiscal second-quarter 2027 earnings release, the company said its Virtual Agent customer count increased 256% from a year earlier in the quarter ended July 31, 2026.
Zoom also cited a study of 500 U.S.-based knowledge workers. The company said respondents using its AI tools reported completing tasks twice as fast; 72% rated the business impact high or extremely high, compared with a 63% market average.
Customer Profiles and retail kiosks are the next listed releases, scheduled for November, followed by centralized AI management and deepfake risk detection in December.
