Until now, an IOS 12 Jailbreak that would bypass the security measures of versions 12.2 and 12.3 has yet to be created. However, security researcher Dany Lisiansky is optimistic that the aforementioned versions still have vulnerabilities that Apple has overlooked.
Lisiansky previously discovered such cracks in the 12.2 version but the Cupertino-based company has since amended that opening. Be that as it may, the researcher is convinced that a working iOS 12 jailbreak will be developed soon, Business Times reported.
Lisiansky’s optimism is in direct opposition to the previous statements of developer pwn20wnd, one of the most well-known researchers in the community. The researcher said that the current iOS 12 jailbreak will remain the latest breakthrough in this regard as Apple is ramping up the security protocols with every update of the operating system.
Indeed, the upcoming iOS 13 is expected to strengthen this front as Apple tries to find and patch these loopholes that Lisiansky is referring to. So far, the iOS 12 jailbreak unc0ver app and the Chimera 1.0.7 are the best solutions to crack open Apple devices that have a pre-12.2 version installed into its system.
Those who want to liberate their devices from Apple’s tight grip should not update their OS to the 12.2 version since pwn20wnd said that even the pros among the communities are having difficulty bypassing its walls. The researcher said that it’s going to be a while for a working iOS 12 jailbreak to surface. But even though this is the case, a lot of developers are still tinkering behind closed doors to find backdoors that Apple hasn’t identified yet.
As for Apple, it’s going to be unveiling its iOS 13 in the upcoming WWDC 2019 slated to take place on June 3. Naturally, both users and developers are eager to learn what this update is going to bring. If vulnerabilities are present, there’s no doubt that the likes of pwn20wnd and Lisiansky will take advantage of it, although it’s expected that Apple will be vigilant for such openings and will respond accordingly. To conclude, Apple is currently winning the battle for the iOS 12 jailbreak, with the company highly likely going to have the upper hand for a while unless something unexpected happens.
