The fourth beta of the iOS 12.3 has recently been released to developers, and its TV app is the most talked about feature of the update. Acting as an aggregating application for hundreds of different TV channels, the feature provides an easier way to watch and subscribe to different platforms offering varying shows, 9to5Mac reported.
The previous version of the iOS 12.3 was only limited to subscriptions on Starz, Smithsonian, Showtime and Tastemade. Now, its options have been vastly expanded to include Comedy Central Now, CBS All Access, Nickelodeon, MTV Hits, HBO, and more.
The last one is the most noticeable among the options of the iOS 12.3 as its highly-acclaimed fantasy saga, “Game of Thrones,” is halfway to completing its final season. The show recently broke viewership record after its latest episode managed to draw in 17.4 million people, the highest figure ever attained by the network, Fortune reported.
12 million of that figure came from television viewers, while the rest came from streaming the series. And with the iOS 12.3 easing the process of finding, subscribing, and watching the epic saga, this number could potentially increase once the finale is released. (Warning, spoilers ahead).
The latest episode was quite the shocker for casual fans, and book readers alike as Arya (Maisie Williams) appeared out of nowhere and managed to kill the Night King (Vladimír Furdík) with a single blow. Following the jaw-dropping ending, some fans are vexed that the story has been building up the Night King as an unstoppable force only to be defeated in such an anti-climactic manner. Whatever the case, there are only three episodes left for the show, and there’s no doubt that the new iOS 12.3 TV app will help HBO gain more subscriptions in the last three weeks that’ll follow.
