Microsoft is about to introduce its newest lineup of hardware products following Google and Apple’s own events. Expected to headline the reveal is the latest Surface all-in-one computer, which is coming on the heels of a powerful sales performance during the last quarter for the product family.
Christmas is almost here, which means the biggest annual shopping bonanza is right in the sights of tech companies. Microsoft hasn’t released all the information on all of the products that it is about to unveil, but many are already making speculations as to what they can expect to appear, Engadget reports.
Thanks to the Surface Pro 4 and other products in the current Surface family raking in nearly a billion dollars for Microsoft, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a reveal of yet another computer in the lineup during the event. However, fans who are hoping for the appearance of a Surface Pro 5 will likely be disappointed since that particular item isn’t slated to come out for a long time.
Instead, ZDNet is betting that something called the “Cardinal” will make an appearance during the event, which will be sold as an all-in-one computer. Right now, “Cardinal” might just be a codename, much like the “NX” was for the Nintendo “Split” and “Neo” for the “PS4 Pro.”
Regardless, the product is rumored to come in three sizes; 21-inch, 24-inch, 27-inch, which are almost absurdly huge. They are also expected to support 4K display, which is one of the biggest selling factors among tech consumers in the current market.
There is also a slight chance that Microsoft will release some details about the “Surface Phone,” which is the rumored handheld device that the company is supposedly developing in secret. It would be quite surprising if this ends up being the case since Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has expressed absolutely no interest in having a smartphone lineup from the company.
