“90 Day Fiancé” season 7 has been confirmed earlier this year. However, since the show revolves around the processing of the K-1 Visa, some fans might be wondering whether the recent happenings in the United States politics could delay the show.
The U.S. government was partially shut down by the end of 2018 through late January 2019 making it the longest shutdown ever in the country’s history. This simply means there was no approved funding bill to support the daily operations of federal agencies for a certain period. Since the processing of K-1 Visa for potential cast members is where the show’s production starts, it was not surprising that it affected the filming of “90 Day Fiancé” season 7.
“It could cause significant delays in visa processing, and it’s going to be a new challenge for reality producers,” a source previously confirmed to Page Six. They also revealed that TLC has started casting for “90 Day Fiancé” season 7 around January, though, it was quite a challenge.
“The stories are contingent on a good cast, so it’s harder to find available couples because it’s following people who have already been approved. The wait is longer [because of the shutdown],” the same “90 Day Fiancé” season 7 insider explained. However, the federal government is back to its normal routine for over a month now and this should also mean that the work for TLC’s hit reality show is back on track, too.
The reality show has had a fall release date since its second season, so many are anticipating “90 Day Fiancé” season 7 to premiere sometime in October. This means it is still quite early to gather some spoilers and cast information at this point.
TLC ordered “90 Day Fiancé” season 7 last January. TLC President Howard Lee hinted at an official statement that the sixth season saw the highest number of average viewers since the show aired in 2014. “It is so exciting that, after six seasons, the tried and true original ‘90 Day Fiancé’ is captivating more viewers than ever. From laughter to tears to a ticking clock, TLC is dedicated to giving our viewers a rollercoaster of emotions with ‘90 Day Fiancé’ — and we’re just getting started,” Lee said.
