“American Horror Story” season 8 is coming to the small screen with the official title “American Horror Story: Apocalypse.” FX revealed that it will arrive with new characters to add more spice to the story.
Moreover, a day before it premieres, the network dropped the cast members’ portraits for the eighth season of “AHS.” Previously, it was speculated that there will be a crossover between “The Coven” and “Murder House” and it turned out to be true when series creator Ryan Murphy confirmed the news.
On Twitter, he wrote, “The Coven/Murder House AHS crossover season won't be happening next year...because it's happening this year." He added the hashtags #AHS and #8 along with the phrase “Witches rule this September.”
Now, despite the “American Horror Story” seasons 1 and 3’s crossover, the new photos from “Apocalypse” show that it will have its own arc. The setting is the time when the characters are trying to recover and survive in a post-nuclear world. Here are glimpses of the drama’s characters:
Sarah Paulson is going to be in “American Horror Story” season 8 and will return as Wilhemina Venable. She will be on the show playing other, new characters, someone who oversees Outpost 3, the frightening safe house. She is vicious and will go to the end to protect her territory.
Sarah is also set to direct an episode in “American Horror Story” season 8 and her work will air sometime in October. This special episode features Jessica Lange.
Cody Fern will also be in the drama as Michael Langdon, an antichrist. Based on the preview, he possesses some magical abilities which he will use to destroy the world.
According to Sarah Paulson, working with Fern is fun so this is a special season for her. “Cody Fern is a really extraordinary actor and he has some great stuff to do,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “Working with him has been really exciting and for me, this season is going to be a little bit like an all-star special.”
Aside from Fern and Paulson, FX also released images of other new characters that will live in Outpost 3, and they include Kathy Bates (Ms. Miriam Mead), Evan Peters (Mr. Gallant), Ashley Santos (Emily), Kyle Allen (Timothy Campbell), Joan Collins (Evie Gallant), Adina Porter (Dinah Stevens), Billie Lourd (Mallory) and Leslie Grossman (Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt).
