The Argentinian Football Association (AFA) is partnering with Ethernity to launch a digital collection celebrating the upcoming Finalissima, where it squares off with Italy.
Finalissima is a football match between the most recent European Cup and Copa America winners.
The NFT collection will have two digital graphics that each depict an iconic occasion in Argentine football. The first features Diego Maradona, Claudio Caniggia, and Sergio Goycochea, three renowned players who are no longer active. The second piece pays tribute to Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, and Lautaro Martinez, who all contributed to the winning goal at Copa America last year. The collection's exclusivity and price were not announced.
This is not the first time AFA has collaborated with Ethernity. The national team worked with the platform to offer a commemorative collection after winning the Copa America. Ethernity also released a Lionel Messi NFT series called "The Messiverse," which included a signed shirt for one lucky bidder. "The Messiverse" released 75 limited copies of four different NFTs, one of which is currently on the market for $3,790.
In addition to Ethernity, the AFA has already announced blockchain collaborations with cryptocurrency exchange Binance, fan token platform Socios, and Bybit exchange. The other partners have yet to be announced, despite Binance's announcement earlier this month.
