‘Avengers 4’ News & Update: Gwyneth Paltrow Unintentionally Leaks Major Plot Detail, Old Villain Set to Return

Avengers

Gwyneth Paltrow is transforming into a superhero in “Avengers 4” and this was confirmed by a single photo that was uploaded on social media. There are now theories that the actress’s character will either save Tony Stark or avenge his death if he will die in the movie. Aside from the new superhero, an old villain called Crossbones is appearing in the fourth “Avengers” sequel.

BGR reported that Gwyneth Paltrow’s desire to share photos while on the set of “Avengers 4” led to a major leak about what can happen in the story. It was reported that the actress will not be the same Pepper Potts who was always supporting Tony Stark on the sides.

As she was shown wearing a full Iron Man-like gear, it was assumed that Gwyneth Paltrow will return to “Avengers 4” as one of the superheroes. Fans noticed that her purple and silver armor suit resembles one of Marvel’s characters called Rescue, so this could be her role in the upcoming movie.

Likewise, Pepper Potts wearing the superhero costume makes perfect sense because a few years ago, Marvel CEO Kevin Feige revealed that she will transform into something else. Speaking to Den of Geek, the CEO said, “We are bored by the damsel in distress. But, sometimes we need our hero to be desperate enough in fighting for something other than just his own life. So, there is fun to be had with 'Is Pepper in danger or is Pepper the savior?' over the course of this movie.”

Meanwhile, The Daily Express reported that Crossbones is coming back in “Avengers 4.” Frank Grillo, the actor playing the character, disclosed this detail when he appeared as a guest on the "UFC Unfiltered" podcast. During the interview, he said, “Crossbones makes an appearance in the next Avengers movie, but it’s a flashback. And I’m allowed to say whatever I want because I’m never doing another Marvel movie…because I’m 117 years old.”
