Ben Affleck's dramatic relapse into alcohol addiction has definitely shaken the lives of the people closest to him, but fans of the actor did not expect that it was his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, who would come to his rescue this time around. But with Affleck nearing the end of his current program, stories have been circulating that Garner may be at the end of her lifeline for Affleck.
Recently, a story was published claiming that Ben Affleck had relapsed while inside the rehabilitation facility. The alleged scenario has reportedly caused concern and disgust from most of his close friends and family. The stories claim that, aside from other named colleagues, Matt Damon's wife asked her husband to cut off his relationship with the “Batman v Superman” star. The stories also contend that Jennifer Garner herself has given up hope for Affleck after the alleged recent episode.
Gossip Cop debunks the rumor by pointing out that the alleged relapse inside the rehabilitation center would have been impossible considering that Affleck publicly posted about completing his 40-day program and was moving on to outpatient care. The successful move from in-patient to out-patient care makes the claim of a relapse in the facility quite impossible considering that patients who relapse tend to stay in the facilities longer.
Gossip Cop also points out that Matt Damon has already publicly stated that he would support Ben Affleck through his difficult times. Damon and Affleck's relationship would not be easily broken by an untrue rumor about Affleck relapsing in a rehabilitation facility, especially with Jennifer Garner's ex and Matt Damon having future projects lined up together.
Regarding Jennifer Garner giving up on Affleck, fans will remember that Garner has committed to getting Affleck through his recovery with their children in mind. A sober Ben Affleck is a better father who can help co-parent with her and will not be a danger to their kids. Fans shouldn't mistake Garner's loyalty to Affleck as romantic affection as Garner and Affleck just recently finalized their divorce.
Fans of Ben Affleck can rest assured that Jennifer Garner and his other friends are not abandoning Affleck anytime soon.
