“Better Call Saul” season 5 is coming really soon after a long wait. However, the bad news is that this will be second to the last installment, which means that only one more season is left once the fifth concludes.
In any case, “Better Call Saul” season 5 is returning with the premiere episode titled the “Magic Man.” As shared on TV Insider, its synopsis reads: “Now doing business as Saul Goodman, Jimmy unveils an unorthodox strategy for client development that tests Kim's tolerance of his new legal persona. Lalo searches for the mysterious Michael, only to discover a problem within his own operation.”
McGill’s transformation - Spoilers
Apparently, Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) has transformed to Saul Goodman in “Better Call Saul” season 5. This happened as the drama has ultimately reached the timeline of “Breaking Bad” already; thus, it is time for Goodman’s character to surface.
“Better Call Saul” season 5 will begin at the courthouse where Jimmy was just reinstated and given back his license to practice law. He was allowed to practice under a new name, which is apparently Saul Goodman.
After the meeting, Jimmy told Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) that rather than become a lawyer in a noble manner, he is planning to take on cases of the criminals who know him from his past illegal drop phone business. Of course, this upset Kim, but she has no choice but to agree with Jimmy's plan.
Still, Kim is very worried that Jimmy will attract more criminal clients and encourage them to continue their criminal activities after he also started offering a 50% discount for non-violent offenders. But Jimmy said that he wants to start afresh and not be regarded as “Chuck McGill’s loser brother” anymore, so this was how Jimmy started to live with his identity in “Better Call Saul” season 5.
Series’ ending is confirmed
Meanwhile, it was confirmed during the recent Television Critics’ Association (TCA) Press Tour that one more chapter is left after “Better Call Saul” season 5 concludes. The show’s executive producer and showrunner also released a statement regarding the finale of the show.
“From day one of ‘Better Call Saul,’ my dream was to tell the complete story of our complicated and compromised hero, Jimmy McGill and we couldn’t be more grateful to the fans and critics who are making this journey possible.” Peter Gould stated via press release. “Next month we start work on the sixth and final season and we’re going to do our damnedest to stick the landing.”
“Better Call Saul” season 5 will be released tonight on Feb. 23 at 10 p.m. in the U.S. on AMC. The second episode titled “50% Off” will follow on Feb. 24 before the show returns to its regular programming schedule of the 9 p.m. on March 1.
