“Boruto Naruto Next Generations” Episode 79 is expected to see the members of team 7 finally reunite after several episodes being apart. Boruto and Sarada are expected to catch up to Mistuki, but not before facing off against a Jounin named Kokuyou. In this fight, fans could be treated to Boruto’s true strength, which might just rival that of a ninja far above a genin.
A synopsis for “Boruto Naruto Next Generations” Episode 79 was posted by a Twitter user named @OrganicDinosaur on his account. It would appear that Boruto and Sarada are finally going to reunite with the lost Mitsuki, and perhaps put an end to this arc. Standing in their way is a tough opponent who should be on the level of Kakashi himself and yet Boruto is supposedly strong enough to go toe-to-toe with him.
“Shaking off a formidable foe, Boruto catches up with Mitsuki! Boruto battles against Kakuyou, who has the strength to even defeat Jounin. It was a close battle, but they shake off their enemy. Finally, they manage a reunion with Mitsuki!?” the post reads.

As Comic Book points out, this development regarding “Boruto Naruto Next Generations” Episode 79 indicates that Boruto might be much stronger than initially thought. Fans previously credited Naruto’s son to be as strong as a Chunin, but it would seem that he is considerably stronger than that. Then again, he did fight a god before and he has since acquired a powerful summon.
The fact that Boruto can take on a Jounin should not be that big of a surprise, at this point. He is often regarded as a genius, after all, and is quite a bit more talented than Naruto when the Hokage was his age. “Boruto Naruto Next Generations” Episode 79 will be airing on Oct. 28, so fans will soon see how the gifted ninja can survive against a powerful new opponent.
