It looks like we won't be seeing Brock Lesnar back soon on the WWE ring as his match on the upcoming 2020 SummerSlam pay-per-view has reportedly been scrapped.

After getting pinned by Drew McIntyre and losing the WWE Championship back in April in the WrestleMania 36, it has been reported that Lesnar will return via the SummerSlam slated for August.

However, wrestlinginc.com wrote that the Beast Incarnate's match, which would have been big against a still unidentified opponent, is one of the two cards that have been scrapped from the SummerSlam.

The other was supposedly another match between Edge and Randy Orton.

Edge had injured his triceps in his recent loss to Orton and is said to be the reason why WWE decided to change the SummerSlam card. The WWE Hall of Famer is not expected to return to action until the early part of 2021.

As for the Brock Lesnar match, the lack of fans’ interaction during the WrestleMania may have prompted WWE to do away with it.

Crowds in sporting events are not yet allowed due to the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

And, fans have always played a huge role for WWE as their reaction will always have a say in big moments happening, such as who will be making a comeback.

WrestleMania 36 was unique in a way that it pushed through despite not having any live audience. Although WWE found ways to make it as entertaining as possible, which surely had fans glued to the screens, it just did not have the kind of engagement that it gets from a live audience.

However, there have also been reports that Lesnar was never part of the 2020 SummerSlam.

The Ringside News reported that Lesnar was only booked for the WrestleMania and was never expected to return soon as it was always in the plans for him to skip the SummerSlam.

No news has yet been released with regards to the 2020 SummerSlam slated for August 23, although there have been rumors that Orton will instead face McIntyre for the title.

As for Brock Lesnar, fans will surely see him return. With his semi-free agent status, he could be on SmackDown or Raw.
