Here is some good news for gamers who can’t seem to get enough of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.” Developers Treyarch has announced that the Black Market customization system for the game is now live on the PlayStation 4 and it will go live on the Xbox One and PC on Oct. 26.
The Black Market will feature a system called Contraband that allows players to unlock new Blackout characters, signature weapons, tags and gestures, and specialist outfits. “Contraband items will be delivered through seasonal Operations, with each Operation delivering a new batch of content every couple of months,” the developers said in the announcement.
The inaugural Operation for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” is called “First Strike” and it has already kicked off on the PlayStation 4. Furthermore, PlayStation 4 player will also get the chance to earn more seasonal items by accessing a free Halloween-themed Special Event. Treyarch also announced that this is just the first of many Special Events so players will get a lot of chances to enjoy this feature.
Meanwhile, Blackjack’s Shop is scheduled to go live in November. This is the place for players to purchase items with limited availability as the shop refreshes weekly.
In other news, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” has been well received by critics and fans alike. Some are even saying that this may be the best “Call of Duty” game in years.
“The game contains very little that hasn’t been done first by others, but it approaches those features in a way that’s so polished and unique that it doesn’t really matter if they’re particularly original. It also lacks a single-player mode, marking the first ever modern COD game to strip itself of a story campaign — and it’s become more focused and fun as a result,” The Verge’s Nick Statt said in his review of the game.
But as noted by Statt and many others, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” isn’t perfect. However, it is a step in the right direction.
