Coca-Cola Beverages Northeast introduced its 100 percent recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) bottles, that will help create and sustain a circular economy and ensure that plastic waste is being recycled and reused.
The rPET bottles emit fewer greenhouse gases than bottles comprised of virgin petroleum-based sources.
According to Coca-Cola Beverages Northeast, this innovation contributes to two of Coca-Cola’s World Without Waste goals, an initiative to address global challenges of packaging waste and climate change through effective systemic changes.
The effort is also made in honor of Earth Day this year.
The 100 percent rPET bottles in the market include the 20-ounce bottles throughout New England and upstate New York:
