“Dancing with the Stars” season 27 officially premiered on Sept. 24 and the night was so glamorous as the new batch of stars paraded their dancing talent in front of the audience and viewers. The show opened with a two-hour special event as the cast was revealed, poised to vie for the Mirror Ball trophy.
The first night of “Dancing with the Stars” season 27 showcased live jive dance performances of model Alexis Ren (model), Bobby Bones (radio personality) and Tinashe (R&B singer), while DeMarcus Ware (former NFL player), Mary Lou Retton (gymnast) and Milo Manheim (Disney actor) flaunted their cha cha moves.
But this was just the start. Another set of celebrities, including Evanna Lynch (actress), Danelle Umstead (Paralympian) and John Schneider (actor), performed foxtrot, and two other contenders, Juan Pablo Di Pace (actor) and Nikki Glaser (stand-up comedian), danced to salsa. Lastly, Joe Amabile of “The Bachelor” and actress Nancy McKeon tried quickstep.
After the first set, the second part of “Dancing with the Stars” season 27 pilot episode will show the contestants dancing the same moves they did in the opening but the music will be different. This is quite a challenge but everyone is expected to pull it off. The first elimination will take place as well.
According to E! News, out of 30 points, the top 5 based on the judges’ leaderboard are as follows:
1. DeMarcus Ware - 23
1. Tinashe - 23
3. Juan Pablo Di Pace - 22
4. Alexis Ren - 21
5. Bobby Bones - 20
As opined by TV Line, DeMarcus's cha cha was impressive, and the worst presentation in “Dancing with the Stars” season 27 premiere was Joe Amabile’s “Grocery Store Joe” performance. It stated that the dance idea was alright but it was not good overall.
“Dancing with the Stars” season 27 airs every Monday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
