Demi Lovato's recent relapse and subsequent rehabilitation have been such a significant moment in the “Camp Rock” alumnus's life that the episode even raised the concern of her former beau, “That '70s Show” actor Wilmer Valderrama. But fans may be wondering about Demi Lovato's plans now that a few months have already passed since her relapse.
In a report by Us Weekly, an anonymous source mentions that Demi Lovato plans to stay in rehab until the rest of the year. The publication states that Lovato is taking her recovery much more seriously, which will prevent the celebrity from taking on any new projects until the end of 2018. Us Weekly's report is thankfully not alone in its optimism about Demi Lovato's recovery.
Demi Lovato's personal history with substance abuse, mental illness, and disordered eating has been long and arduous, rivaling some the fatal celebrity implosions of the past. But fans of the “Sorry, Not Sorry” singer can take a breath and rest easy knowing that her family is actively supporting her current recovery in in-patient care.
According to a report by People, Demi Lovato's mother, Dianna De La Garza, shared her experience on Sirius XM regarding Demi Lovato's relapse. According to De La Garza, while she was afraid for her daughter's safety during the moments of her overdose, she has since become quite proud of Demi Lovato's 90-day strong commitment to her recovery.
Demi Lovato's sister, Madison De La Garza also shared – via an interview with the “Millenial Hollywood” podcast – that she is looking forward to her sisters' recovery. The younger De La Garza was quoted as anticipating the day she can once again spend quality time with her sister, eating frozen yogurt.
With Demi Lovato's commitment to taking her recovery seriously until the end of 2018, fans of Lovato can now only hope that the coming new year can bring good news about her departure from the rehabilitation facility. 2019 can hopefully be a fresh start for Lovato, allowing her to restart the sobriety streak she celebrated with her most recent song, “Sober.”
