Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been married for over a decade already but despite the split rumors, their relationship is actually getting stronger every day. They are in fact one of Hollywood’s most unbreakable married couples for lasting this long and counting more years together.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s relationship goes back to as early as 2000 but they did not become a couple at once. The latter revealed in one of her interviews that it was love at first sight when she saw “The Ellen Show” host at a party in that year but then she was not able to confess and tell Ellen how she felt.
In 2004, they met again at an event and she bravely told Ellen DeGeneres how she felt about her. She further shared that she explained to her then future wife that she has not publicly revealed her sexuality yet so she waited years to profess her love.
In 2005, just a few months after reconnecting with Ellen, Portia De Rossi publicly admitted she is gay through an interview with The Advocate. This was also the first time that she disclosed about her relationship with the 60-year-old host and shared that she really struggled with her sexuality prior to coming out.
In that same year, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi moved in together and tied the knot in 2008 as soon as the Supreme Court of California approved the same-sex marriage. The wedding was intimate with only a few of their friends and family in attendance.
After two years, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi constantly appear on the headlines as various tabloids wrote articles that they are heading for divorce. Of course, the write-ups were proven to be false as they are still very much in love with one another.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi also celebrated their 10th year wedding anniversary in August and this is enough to disprove the divorce rumors. To celebrate this milestone in their relationship, the couple simply shared a short video of their 2005 wedding via social media.
