CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 12, 2017 -- Extended Stay America, Inc. (NYSE:STAY) is celebrating the season of giving by delivering 200 Hope teddy bears to pediatric patients at Levine Children’s Hospital today, Tuesday, Dec. 12. As part of its Give Hope program, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, Extended Stay America aims to bring smiles to the faces of children battling cancer with Hope the teddy bear – a cuddly symbol of kindness and comfort.
“This Hope bear donation is close to our hearts, and we are grateful to be able to work with the team at Levine Children’s Hospital to brighten the day of these brave children in our hometown of Charlotte,” said Gerry Lopez, President and CEO, Extended Stay America. “We were able to make today happen with the support of our hotel guests, and we encourage others to donate to our Give Hope program, so we can continue spreading hope and joy to children who need it.”
Giving Hope
For just a $10 donation a Hope bear, made exclusively with Build-a-Bear Workshop®, can be delivered to a child hospitalized with cancer. For those who would like to bring Hope home to a friend, family member or loved one, Hope can be ordered and delivered for $19.99. For each Hope bear purchased, Extended Stay America donates $5 to the American Cancer Society toward pediatric cancer research.
Working with the American Cancer Society, Extended Stay America has provided Hope bears to children's hospitals across the country this year, including donations at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital and Providence Children’s Hospital in El Paso, Texas. These donations are part of the brand’s commitment – through the support of its hotel guests – to donate 10,000 Hope bears nationally to children hospitalized with cancer.
