While the final season of “Game of Thrones” has fans all riled up, there are many who are left feeling frustrated and out of place due to the fact that the books have yet to be finished. The next installment in the paper series is still being written by George R.R. Martin, titled “Winds of Winter.” In an effort to reassure fans who are starting to feel anxious, the author promises that he will finish the books.
The promise was made by the author in a blog post, where he both acknowledged the frustration that his fans are feeling now and eased their worries about the fate of the books. Naturally, it’s worth remembering that the events in “Winds of Winter” might be wildly different from that in “Game of Thrones.” This is something that readers and viewers may want to take note of.
“Me, I am back in my fortress of solitude, and back in Westeros. It won’t be tomorrow, and it won’t be next week, but you will get the end of A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE,” the author wrote after giving updates on his other projects and activities.
Now, it has been reported before that George R.R. Martin has been struggling to finish “Winds of Winter” and a lot of it is due to “Game of Thrones.” Because of how popular the show has made the novels and how complex the events depicted in them have grown, he has found difficulty in actually finishing them. The impact of the most recent events in the show surpassing the existing literature has been obvious, as well.
The previous season of “Game of Thrones” has been remarked to be lacking the same level of sophistication and nuance that the seasons before it did. A lot of this is due to the fact that the showrunners had to deviate from the books. With the release of “Winds of Winter,” fans will be able to follow the actual events that George R.R. Martin had intended.
