Fans still have several months before they can watch “Game of Thrones” season 8. But spoilers and plot theories suggest some interesting twists for Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
By this time, some fans might be thinking that Jorah is most likely among the collateral damage in the course of the great war in “Game of Thrones” season 8. But did Glen hint that Jorah has a more positive storyline?
In a recent interview with Express, Glen briefly discussed the “Game of Thrones” season 8 scripts, describing them as "really special" and the “six best” of the series. But his most interesting statement was, "I am one of the lucky ones who made it through.”
Some reports suggested that the actor unwittingly revealed that Jorah will be one of the few who survive the war. On the other hand, Glen might only be referring to the fact that he is still in the “Game of Thrones” season 8 cast and not particularly to Jorah staying alive until the final episode.
Meanwhile, a widely spread plot theory by Reddit user thetripleb suggests that Jorah “is either going to die, or die.” The same fan also offered some interesting predictions on what awaits several characters in “Game of Thrones” season 8, including Jaime.
It can be recalled that he got tired of Cersei Lannister’s (Lena Headey) politics. Prior to “Game of Thrones” season 8, he decided to join Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) in the war against the Night King.
Jaime is speculated to convince a significant number of Lannister soldiers to follow him instead of Cersei in “Game of Thrones” season 8. At the end of the great war, Jaime is still expected to fulfill the omen that Cersei’s younger brother is going to be the end of her.
After Jon and Jaime wipe out the White Walker army, the latter is rumored to be named the 1000th Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. One highlight in the closing of “Game of Thrones” season 8 is speculated to be the rebuilding of the brotherhood. And in a way, it could seem like an allusion to restoring Jaime's tarnished reputation as well.
HBO has announced that “Game of Thrones” season 8 will premiere in 2019. Unfortunately, there is no official word yet on the exact air date.
