“Game of Thrones” Season 8 is arguably the most hotly anticipated series return of any TV franchise because it’s the last. It represents over a decade’s worth of emotions poured into the story, the characters, and the world. While it has not even premiered yet, details about the ending possibly dividing fans are already in the wild. There is also the possibility of Jamie (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) making the ultimate sacrifice for Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright), whom he once crippled.
So far, two actors have already revealed their thoughts on the final episode of “Game of Thrones” Season 8 potentially dividing fans. In a recent interview with IGN, Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa on the show, commented on the possibility. She did say that it was satisfying to her as an actor, but fans might not feel the same way.
"Who knows if it will be satisfying for the fans. I think a lot of fans will be disappointed and a lot of fans will be over the moon, I think. I think it will be really interesting to see people’s reactions, but for me reading the script it was just like heartbreaking to read at the very final page of the script it just says, ‘End of Game of Thrones’. That was really emotional," she said.
Iain Glen, who plays Jorah Mormont, seemed to share this opinion, Metro reports, noting that the “Game of Thrones” Season 8 ending might not be to everyone’s taste. He explains that a lot of it is going to be due to the factions that have formed all through the seven seasons of the show so far.
“The bottom line is I’m sure we’ll not please everyone across the board, but when we gathered for reading the scripts right at the beginning, there was a huge sense the writers had done a fantastic job, and a fantastic job for the series as a whole,” the actor explained.
Speaking of developments in “Game of Thrones” Season 8 that fans might not be expecting, there are fan theories that Jamie might die while protecting Bran, Express reports. The upcoming season is bound to see main characters getting killed left and right. If everyone’s favorite fantasy anti-hero were to meet his end while saving the child he crippled, it might almost come off as ironically fitting.
“Game of Thrones” Season 8 is expected to premiere in 2019. Each episode will be feature-film in length and production is the highest it has ever been.
