Most fans would give anything to be part of their favorite TV series and films. Some even follow the shows when they go from the big screen to the small screen or vice versa.
The Star Wars is one of those franchises that have gathered a massive following and we are sure that fans would also jump at the chance of being part of it.
And, this is exactly what happened to the Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian.
According to Cinemablend, Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni, the show's creator and producer, respectively, called on the 501st Legion to portray the role of Stormtroopers for its season finale.
The 501st Legion is a group of Star Wars fans and costume enthusiasts. The group's dedication to Star Wars is guaranteed and aside from appearing in conventions in detailed costumes, they also show up at film premieres as invited by the Lucasfilm.
Thus, when Favreau and Filoni realized that they lack stormtroopers, the 501st Legion immediately came to mind and they wondered if they would be willing to help.
Turned out that Favreau and Filoni did not have to wonder as the 501st Legion readily obliged.
If you are wondering what scene, remember that standoff between Mando and Moff Gideon, yes, those stormtroopers were members of the 501st Legion.
Favreau and Filoni have nothing but praises for the group as they did not have to exert effort in instructing them as not only did they came prepared but they also acted exactly how a stormtrooper should.
As for the fans, they talked about how they felt significant and excited for being part of the show which was actually a surprise for them as they were not informed what show would they be filming.
And, they also got to hang out on the set with the show's stars—Giancarlo Esposito and Carl Weathers. Plus, they now own props, specifically armors, that was used for a Star Wars project, something that many would give a lot to have.
