There are rumors flying around that Mark Harmon will leave "NCIS." There are conclusions why these rumors could be true.
Mark Harmon plays the role of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a former U.S Marine Corps Scout Sniper turned special agent who commands a team for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. His character in the TV series plays an important role.
With that, followers of the TV series may find the show incomplete without Mark Harmon's character. NCIS Season 5 ratings dropped by five percent, according to Celebrity Insider. According to the source, the rating may continue to drop in the second episode, there are no signs of stopping the drop.
There are some factors why the new season did not perform well-one of them is Pauley Perrette’s departure after last season. She was also rumored had a feud with Mark Harmon.
Parrette portrayed the role of Abby Sciuto, one of the notable characters of NCIS. She announced her exit at the end of Season 15. Her departure happened amid rumors that she and Mark Harmon were feuding behind the scenes.
The root of the drama between Parrette and Mark Harmon was care from an incident in 2016 involving Harmon’s dog. The actor brought the dog to work and the pooch bit a crew member. Some crews were sent to the hospital for stitches.
Perrette approached Mark Harmon regarding the incident. According to rumors, the two casts allegedly got into a huge fight. After that alleged fight, the two avoided each other and even re-arranged their schedules so they wouldn’t have to see each other.
Both Parrette and Mark Harmon haven't talked about the incident. So no one from NCIS confirms if the incident really happened.
Mark Harmon was rumored that he has a health issue. This is why many people are speculating that he may leave the show due to his condition. However, during an interview, Harmon said he will not leave the series, and confirmed he has no health issue. As of now, the network, CBS has not said anything about its future plans for NCIS. No one knows if the network is thinking about canceling the series.
